FIKA Filmmakers Association Membership Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
1.1 These terms and conditions that govern your membership with FIKA Filmmakers Association. By becoming a member, you agree to comply with these Terms, the FIKA Constitution and any additional guidelines or rules posted by FIKA.
2. Membership Eligibility
2.1 To be eligible for membership, you must be a filmmaker, film enthusiast, content creator or a creative industry professional in Kenya.
2.2 FIKA reserves the right to refuse or revoke membership at its sole discretion.
3. Membership Benefits
3.1 As a member, you will have access to exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and other industry-related activities organized by FIKA and it’s partners.
3.2 You may also have the opportunity to showcase your work at FIKA-sponsored events, subject to selection criteria and availability, Get support for your creative projects, and more, depending on your membership level and type (Read the benefits of each type and level of FIKA membership for details,)
4. Membership Fees
4.1 Membership fees are non-refundable and must be paid annually in advance. Failure to renew membership status within the provided timelines revokes the membership.
4.2 FIKA reserves the right to change the membership fees with prior notice to members.
5. Code of Conduct
5.1 Members are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully at all FIKA events and online platforms.
5.2 Discrimination, harassment, or any form of inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and may result in the immediate termination of membership.
5.3 Members are tied by the constitution and the code of conduct, and should at all times take responsibility of following and keeping them.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Members retain the rights to their intellectual property, including films, scripts, and any other creative works shared with FIKA, unless in cases of special submissions like Film festivals, Film competitions and marketing purposes, where a special agreement will be made between FIKA and the project owner.
6.2 By becoming a member, you may grant FIKA the right to use your name and promotional materials for the purpose of promoting FIKA events and activities.
7. Termination of Membership
7.1 FIKA reserves the right to terminate your membership if you breach any of these Terms or engage in conduct detrimental to FIKA or its members.
7.2 In the event of termination, member contribution, loyalties and other support will not be rewarded.
8. Amendments
8.1 FIKA reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Members will be notified of any changes, and continued membership constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.
9. Governing Law
9.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Kenya.
